Apple MacBook Air (2025) Announced: M4 Chip, New Sky Blue Color, and a Price Cut
Apple has officially unveiled the updated MacBook Air (2025), bringing three key upgrades: the latest M4 chip, a stunning new Sky Blue color option, and an improved front camera. Additionally, the new models come with a $100 price drop, making them more accessible than ever.
M4 Chip: Faster Performance and Enhanced Display Support
The MacBook Air (2025) is powered by Apple’s latest M4 chip, which was first introduced in last year’s iMac and Mac mini. The chip features 10 CPU cores and 8 or 10 GPU cores, depending on the configuration. Apple claims impressive performance gains compared to the previous M1 models:
- 1.6x faster in Microsoft Excel
- 2x faster in iMovie
- 2x faster in Adobe Photoshop
Additionally, the M4 MacBook Air now supports up to two 6K external displays at 60Hz, a major upgrade from the previous generation, which supported only one external display.
New Sky Blue Color Joins the MacBook Air Lineup
Apple has introduced a fresh Sky Blue color for the MacBook Air (2025). The metallic light blue finish creates a dynamic gradient effect under different lighting conditions. This new shade joins the existing Midnight, Starlight, and Silver options, giving users more ways to personalize their MacBook.
Upgraded 12MP Center Stage Camera
Apple has also upgraded the MacBook Air’s front camera to a 12MP Center Stage camera, which is the same as the one found in the MacBook Pro. While maintaining 1080p video recording, the new camera offers higher resolution images and supports Center Stage technology, which keeps you in the frame as you move. It also introduces Desk View, a feature that simultaneously captures yourself and a top-down view of your desk.

Aside from these updates, the MacBook Air (2025) retains its iconic thin and light design, featuring:

- Same speaker and microphone array
