Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus to Feature Exynos 2500 Chip in Select Markets
Despite swirling rumors that hinted at an exclusive use of Snapdragon processors for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, recent Geekbench results reveal a different strategy. The Galaxy S25+ has been spotted running the Exynos 2500 SoC, indicating that Samsung will indeed introduce this chipset in selected regions including Europe, while other markets will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Initial concerns about production difficulties with the Exynos 2500 seem mitigated, as evidenced by the Geekbench scoresheet depicting the Galaxy S25+ equipped with the yet-to-be-released chip. This proves that consumers in specific markets can anticipate experiencing the Exynos variant.
The detailed CPU configuration revealed includes a ten-core setup with the prime core operating at 3.3 GHz, alongside two performance cores at 2.75 GHz, and five additional cores clocked at 2.36 GHz. The energy-efficient duo runs at 1.8 GHz. Completing the chipset’s capabilities, the Xclipse 950 GPU, backed by AMD’s RDNA architecture, shows promising potential.
While it’s exciting to speculate on performance, it’s important to remember this is a pre-production unit. Hence, drawing direct comparisons with competitors like the Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Elite might be premature.
