Oppo joins the Wear OS party with the Watch X, a device strikingly similar to the recently announced OnePlus Watch 2. This close resemblance isn’t coincidental – it’s essentially the same hardware under different branding.

Familiar Features in a New Package

The Oppo Watch X mirrors the OnePlus Watch 2 in both design and specs. It boasts a dual-chipset setup: Google’s Wear OS 4 handles demanding tasks, while a separate RTOS takes care of activity and health tracking. The watch packs a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, 2GB RAM, and 32GB storage, paired with a BES 2700BP co-processor.

A round 1.43-inch AMOLED display (60Hz) greets users, powered by a 500mAh battery. Oppo claims this translates to 100 hours of standard use or up to 12 days in power-saving mode. Additionally, the Watch X features VOOC Flash charging, offering a day’s worth of power in just 10 minutes and a full charge in an hour.

Staying Connected and Durable

Connectivity isn’t a concern with the Watch X, as it offers dual-band GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. It’s also IP68-rated and 5ATM water-resistant, and it has passed 16 MIL-STD-810H durability tests, ensuring its toughness.

Color Options and Availability

The Oppo Watch X comes in Platinum Black and Mars Brown color options. Currently, it’s priced at MYR 1,399 (around $295) in Malaysia, with sales starting on March 2nd. While more regions are expected to receive the Watch X soon, official confirmation from Oppo is awaited.

In Summary:

  • The Oppo Watch X is essentially a rebranded OnePlus Watch 2.
  • It features Google Wear OS 4, a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a 1.43-inch AMOLED display.
  • The watch boasts a 500mAh battery with VOOC Flash charging, offering impressive battery life and fast charging speeds.
  • It comes in two colors, is water-resistant, and has passed durability tests.
